The governance of the IMB is done by the board of directors and by the Audit Committee, which is a collegiate body, composed of at least 03 (three) full associates or founding members, who are responsible for directing and managing the Institute, subordinate to the General Associates Assembly. It is their role to deliberate, control, and guide the actions of this Association. The Audit Committee is the body which supervises, counsels and deliberates.

In addition to the two boards mentioned above, the IMB has a Scientific Board that guides the scientific practices and evaluates the technical proposals developed by the institution.
